Karen brought joy to many, especially her husband, her six children and her 12 grandchildren—even while she battled cancer during the last 10 years of her life.
Born on January 16, 1953, Karen grew up in Alton IL, then at age 13 moved with her brother, Jeff Cowdry, and parents, Nancy & E.V. Cowdry Jr., to St Louis, MO.
Karen graduated from Kirkwood High School and then attended University of Missouri before becoming a licensed nurse. In addition to nursing, Karen also worked as a real estate broker.
While raising her children in Clermont, FL, her faith in God, her gift of hospitality and her unconditional love shaped them and others in the community.
Karen is survived by her husband Rob, and her six children (listed oldest to youngest): Josh Castleman, Jeremiah Castleman, Amy McGrath, Lisa Edgar, Sarah Newsom and Michael Creasy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Henry Chapel, First Baptist Orlando, 3000 S. John Young Pkwy, Orlando FL at 11:00AM on Saturday December 30th.
In lieu of flowers, Karen has requested donations be made to Foundations for Nations--a ministry dedicated to sharing the gospel with the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Indians located on the Wind River Reservation in Riverton, WY https://foundnations.com/ministry-home/
