Joyce Van Denburgh Doty

Joyce Van Denburgh Doty passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023. At 96, Joyce had lived through many eras, one of the most memorable to her was the Rural Electrification Act which brought electricity to the farm on which she grew up in Johnstown, NY, so she went from no electricity while young to using computers and Facebook as she grew older! Joyce was the daughter of Maurice Van Denburgh and Josephine Crane Van Denburgh. She graduated from Cornell University with both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Fine Arts. She married Michael Doty, a veterinarian, with whom she had 4 children, Harold Doty (deceased), Janet Doty Thompson (Hugh), Edith Doty Long (Douglas) and Michael Doty (Tony). Joyce has grandchildren, Elizabeth Doty Lippoldt (Andy), Edward Doty (deceased), Katherine Thompson Wilson, Jennifer Thompson Stephenson (Adam), Christopher Thompson (Erika) and greatgrandchildren Payton Woolard, Asher Lippoldt, Conner Wilson (Julee), Garrett Wilson, Hampton Stephenson and Wyatt Stephenson as well as great great grandchildren Heidi Wilson and Kennedy Wilson. She will be missed by all.
