John Howard Schumacher Jr.

John Howard was born in Floral Park, Long Island in the state of New York on January 16, 1927. He is predeceased by his parents, John Howard Schumacher, Sr. and Helen Wuest Schumacher, as well as a brother Warren Schumacher. John is also predeceased by his wife, Sally Eleanor Boudreau Schumacher. John and Sally had six children together, four of which continue to mourn his loss. Living are Helen Donaher and her husband Kevin who reside in Burlington, Connecticut. A son, John Schumacher, who lives in Oakland, California. A daughter, Joan Schumacher who resides in New York City. His youngest daughter, Dianne Zywica, his constant companion and caregiver, lived with him in Leesburg. They were both surrounded by the love and companionship of his service dog, Jazzy.

John Schumacher is predeceased by two of his children, Kathleen Schumacher and Lawrence Schumacher. John Howard has five loving grandchildren, Ryan Donaher, Erin Donaher Barrows, Michael Schumacher, Lawrence and John Schumacher and Helen (Nellie) Schumacher in addition to multiple great grandchildren.

John Howard was a very successful businessman who spent much of his working life as Executive Director of the American Electroplaters Society based most recently in Orlando, Florida. He retired in 1994. His life’s passions, along with his work, included boating and spending hours on Lake Down supporting his children’s love of waterskiing. He loved all of his precious canine companions Sherry, Baron, Princess, Daisy and Jazzy as well as many cherished friends through the years – most especially those recent friends – George, Anne and March who brought such joy.

John’s greatest passion was his family! He was an extremely exuberant man – full of life and warmth. His engaging personality easily drew people to him and he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

John Howard’s memory will continue to be strengthened in the hearts of his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the immediate family.
