Howard Dukes

Howard Junior Dukes, "JR", 79, passed on Sunday, September 22,2013 in his home. He is survived by his four children: Cheryl Ann Dukes, Sharon Lynn Decant, Daryll Kaye Thomas, and Howard Keith Dukes. Along with his Brother, Gene Autry Dukes. Howard was blessed with eight beautiful Granddaughters and one Great Grandson.

Howard was born October 29, 1933 in Grady County, Georgia, the son of Howard Dukes and Trudy Mae Godwin. Howard enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Electronics Mechanic and traveled to many foreign countries. After retiring from the Air Force, Howard decided to bring his family to sunny Florida, where he worked at Highlands General Hospital, Cushman Management, and Lucerne General Hospital. He then retired and worked part time at the wonderful Walt Disney World making Magical Memories for many guests, for several years.

After really retiring, Howard and his wife of 56 years, Katie Weber Dukes, purchased a home in Tyner, North Carolina.They spent their remaining years together travelling the country and visiting their families and friends.

Howard, affectionately called "Poppy"will be missed terribly. "We love you Dad!"
