Donald William Harkins Sr.

Donald W. Harkins Sr., 82, passed away on September 18, 2011 in peace at his home. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1929 and moved to Orlando in 1943. He was married on September 3, 1949 to Carolyn Amanda Williams at Saint James Church. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in the company of their family on September 4, 2011. They moved to Winter Springs in 2001. Don retired as a manager from State Auto Insurance Company. He was a founding member of St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Parish. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, sons, Donald Jr., Robert Sr., and Philip, his daughter Carol Ford, son-in-law William Ford, Sister, Marjorie Goode, five grandchildren; Robert Harkins Jr. (Katie), Amanda Harkins, Heidi (Harkins)Blakely (Ryan), Elizabeth Ford, and Donald Harkins III, and one great-grandchild, Robert “Tripp” Harkins III. A memorial mass will be held at St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00am.
