Don was an amazing man!  I really enjoyed working with him at MVA.  He always came to my rescue when technology was not my friend.  Whether he was working on a computer, driving a bus during our weekend duty, or stopping by to see how Reese was doing in my class, he had a big smile on his face.  I’ll never for get him.  

I remember seeing Don at birthday parties for Reese and Reese’s friends.  He always had a smile on his face.  He was always so proud of his kids and you could see it on his face when he saw them or talked about them.  We even had a few IT conversations about latest technology or what was challenging in the IT world.  He was such a nice person and I was glad I got to know him.

The unimaginable happened and I am so sorry you and your family are going through this tragic loss. It was clear that Don was loved by many, especially me. 

The minute I met Don, I knew he was special. Don stopped by my office many mornings during his time at MVA and we would solve the problems of the world, talk about family and whatever came to mind. Needless to say, we became very close and he touched my heart. I loved him like family and knew he would always be in my life. I will hold dear his incredible bear hugs as they were so special. When I think of Don I think of a great 
big hug. 💙

We all loved DT so much! He was always there with a smile, the best hugs and sometimes even a lecture for me. He was honestly one of the best men I’ve ever met. Forever loved by his MVA family! 

I never played any organized sports, so I never had a coach experience like you hear about - until Don got Dennis and myself to start working out on our lunch breaks at work.  Don was focused, encouraging, and knew that you were capable of far more than you knew yourself.  He was a good friend, generous with his time and knowledge, and was a great coach. I'm certain that those same qualities, among others, added up to a Husband, Father, and friend that was amazing, and will be missed for years to come.

Thanks for being there Don, I'm a better person because I knew you.

I deeply regret that I never got to know you better. You struck me as a good man, and while it may have seemed like small, simple gestures, I always appreciated you taking the time to greet me, even in passing, at work. I feel truly blessed that my last memory of you is you and Ben, walking side by side like you always were, and the two of you sharing a laugh. 

To Don's family and friends, I offer my deepest condolences. I can't imagine the pain you feel at his loss. I know he'll be sorely missed.

I'll  always be thankful and appreciative of how attentive and helpful he was at work. One of my favorite memories of him was when I went over his house and he gave me an entire tour of his home. I'll always have that fun memory of him.

I don’t even know where to begin with a memory, let alone just one memory. Don was one of the first people I contacted when I moved to Florida. The family I was living with at the time didn’t like him… because he had a pager! Haha!! This was 1995 and they thought he was a drug dealer. We all know that was NOT the case. Then we were roommates for a couple years, that was an amazing time as well. I’m not sure if the picture will show up with this, but he’s also the reason I signed up to learn how to walk stilts. At the time Don, Chris Mustonen, and I would go to downtown Orlando and rollerblade every night after work (then we’d stop and get frozen Cokes, sometimes two). We were signing up to learn the rollerblading role in Mickey Mania and he said “I’m gonna sign up for stilts”, so of course I said put my name down, too. Fun fact, the song Toonsta’s Paradise (Gangsta’s Paradise was huge at the time) was started while we were rollerblading downtown.  Then I got to work with Don again at Montverde Academy. I am so lucky to have had him in my life for so many years. Even if we didn’t always keep in touch, he was always in my mind and in my heart. One last note, I got to be there to witness Don and Sheri’s start. Sheri is perfect for him and he loved her so very much. I could go in and on with so many memories. Such a great man and amazing friend. Love you big guy!!  

Don thank you for all your help when I had an inquiry regarding IT stuff. I will always remember saying hi to you for the last time just before I went on vacation by James desk. Sadly I just learned that we share the same birthday. You will be missed.



There are no words for a devastating loss.  Don was the go-to guy; the "IT" guy.  He was in so many ways "the Don" of our tech department and our firm.  Don was someone that was highly regarded and viewed as the one who could solve any problem.  I remember fondly riding in the elevator with him and his daughter, Faith, at work during her last week before leaving for college.  I asked her questions about college life and I could see Don's face light up with love and pure amazement of just how proud he was as Faith spoke about her future endeavors.  He will be gravely missed.  My deepest condolences to the Taylor family.  

To Sheri and the family of Don, please know that you are in my prayers.  I wish I had the right words to express in this time of sorrow to comfort you all.  In the short two years that I knew Don, he always went above and beyond to help whether it was a computer issue or just to answer a quick question, and he always took time to just talk about the day, life, or whatever topic came up in conversation.  He was much more than just our Director of IT or colleague; he was a friend and I miss him.  Hugs and prayers to you all. 

I am so very sad that you lost Don.   Don was a great friend and so good to all of us.   Don loved you all so much and would always talk about his family, especially when we talked about our kids. I know Don from working at Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys, He was always so helpful an kind, simply put a nice guy!  

Don was there to help me get my computer back up and running when I returned to the office after donating my kidney. It was then when he told me about his heart transplant, an amazing story of  perseverance in the face of adversity.  To know Don has donated his organs to help others in his passing, speaks to the great person he was. 

My family and I send our deepest condolences to the entire Taylor Family for their great loss. Don will truly be missed by all of the Newlin Family.

I personally am sad with the passing of Don, he was such a caring person, he knew my medical condition and would always ask me "Sandra, how are you feeling today, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help", he would come in everyday in the morning at 7am and ask me and Christine if everything was ok and would chat with us for a bit and then get his coffee. I always used to bother him with computer issues and he was always there to help me.  Such an amazing person, he will be truly missed and his memory will live on. I am so very sorry for your loss. 

Although I did not know Don for very long, we were able to speak on several occasions - whenever he would come to fix my computer. He always took the opportunity to talk about you and the family and how he love lounging around the pool and doing nothing but relaxing.

I really enjoyed speaking with him each time. He will be missed dearly. You and all of the family will be in my thoughts and prayers continuously.
