Sarchet dedicated much of his life to serving others. He was a decorated military officer and long-time civic activist. After 33 years in the military, he moved to Orlando where he worked as a commercial real estate broker and served on the now Downtown Development Board, the City of Orlando Library Board, Orange County Public Library Board of Trustees, and on the Boards of the Miss Orlando Scholarship Pageant, the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.
Corb’s many contributions to the City of Orlando earned him the “Downtowner of the Year” distinction in 1982. Among them, he organized the Fiesta in the Park committee in 1972 to bring more people to Lake Eola Park. The event continues to thrive each year and has donated more than $1 million to the City for the support of parks and special events.
He dedicated more than 50 years of service to Boy Scouts of America, and served as past President of the Central Florida Council. Over the past 40 years, he served as Deacon, Trustee, and Elder at Park Lake Presbyterian Church.
