Allan Richard Nagle, of Windermere, FL, died at the age of 91 on December 9th at his home (thereby masterfully avoiding the upcoming presidential administration). Allan was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on July 19,1933 to Robert and Dorothy Nagle. He was a graduate of A B Davis High School, Tufts University, and Harvard Business School. He met his wife, Marjorie (who preceded him in death in 2020), on a blind date. Married for 64 years, they had 5 children: Kevin (Robin) Nagle, Charles Nagle, Cynthia (Stephen) Gorman, Gregory (Christine) Nagle, and Laura (David) Gehrenbeck.
Allan’s business career involved working with Berdines, General Motors, Gillette, Brown & Williamson, Shaklee Corp., and Tupperware. He also served as interim Dean of Crummer Business School. But more rewarding than the business world was his committed work, association, and love for the Windermere Union Church and his extended church family.
Allan’s robust and exuberantly-lived life was attributed chiefly due to his almost daily workout regime at Isleworth Golf & Tennis Club. His love of family: children, grandchildren, and the first and much-awaited great grandchild sustained him even more than his workouts. Allan delighted in sharing financial planning and college application advice with anyone who asked, reading about the pivotal battles of WWII, and savoring the simple pleasure of a scoop of vanilla ice cream with butterscotch sauce.
In addition to his children, Allan leaves behind younger brother, Richard Nagle, grandchildren: Bryan Nagle, Andrew Gorman, Benjamin (Courtney Leeds) Gorman, Ella (Daniel) Becker, Lily Gehrenbeck, Alexander Nagle, Jolie Nagle, Emmett Gehrenbeck, Spencer Nagle, and great grandchild, Luna June Becker. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Connie Lawton.
Hug your Dear Ones tightly (after a good solid workout, of course).
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Windermere Union Church on Sunday, January 26 at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Dave’s House, an organization he proudly supported over many years: https://www.daveshouse.org/allan-nagle.
