Dorothy (Sawyer) Travers, loving mother and loyal friend, died peacefully, surrounded by family in Goodyear AZ on August 1st 2023. Born August 9th 1932 in Arlington MA to James and Sarah (Morrison) Sawyer and was raised in Roslindale MA. She was a part of the “greatest generation”. Dorothy was engaging, supportive, sincere, and genuine, she will be greatly missed. Dorothy’s leadership skills, compassion and great wisdom earned her much respect and she retired from the downtown Harvard Club after 20 years. Dorothy is survived by her son Thomas W (Sara) Travers Jr., grandson, James T (Dawn) Moodie, great grandsons Travers D. Moodie and James C. Moodie. Preceded in death by her parents, son James W. Travers, husband Thomas W, Travers Sr. and brother James R. Sawyer. Dorothy was loved and embraced by nieces Dorothy Mikulenka and Jeanette Roetzel and their families. Memorial services to be held on September 23rd, 11:00 at The Church Of The Pilgrimage, 8 Town Square, Plymouth, MA.
