It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tommy W. Runion, who left us far too soon at the age of 22. Born in Paradise Valley, Arizona, Tommy entered this world on October 17, 2001, and brought immense joy to all who knew him.
From the moment he arrived, Tommy was a beacon of light in our lives, Tommy is survived by his sister, Ashley, mother Susan, and father Jeff. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Nick, grandmother Linda, and cousin Becca, all of whom cherished him deeply.
Tommy’s early years were spent in Peoria before the family moved to Centennial, Colorado. It was there that he and our son forged a bond through their shared love of Legos, Star Wars, and adventures in the woods. At around age five, the family returned to Arizona, residing in Goodyear and Buckeye.
Tommy attended Southwest Christian School, Palm Valley Elementary, and Western Sky Middle School, before graduating from Millennium High School in 2020. During his school years, he was an avid football player and dedicated volunteer at CCV, always eager to lend a helping hand. Tommy cherished vacations with family and friends, creating countless memories that will last a lifetime.
Those who knew Tommy will remember him for his infectious laughter, unwavering friendship, and loyalty. He was always ready for fun, whether it was doing cartwheels on the greens at Pagosa Golf Course, eagerly waiting in long lines for the next Batman video game release, or enjoying tubing down the river with loved ones. He brought joy to every gathering, whether playing frisbee or escaping from puzzles in escape rooms.
If we were to line up those who knew him, the words that would echo through the crowd would be laughter, devotion, generosity, caring, and above all, loyalty. Tommy’s impact radiates far beyond this room, touching lives and hearts wherever he went. Now, his spirit shines brightly in his father's house in heaven, where he will continue to inspire and be loved.
As we mourn his passing, we celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the memories we will forever hold dear. Rest in peace, Tommy. You will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
