Mr. Terry McClellan, 65 of Buckeye, Arizona died January 26 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born August 5, 1956 in Pocatello, Idaho to Guy and Edith Floyd. He had 5 siblings – Gary Betty, Jaunita Feaster, Coralie Smith, Tom Betty, and Sherry Williams.
Terry grew up in Idaho, participating in sports and many outdoor activities. After graduating high school, he entered the U.S. Navy where he served honorably as a submariner. After his honorable discharge, he accepted a position with Arizona Public Service at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station. Shortly after moving to Arizona, he married Lori in Buckeye, Arizona where they raised 5 sons.
Terry retired from Palo Verde in 2018. Since then, he had been very active in his church at Victory Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday School teacher, building committee chairman, and a member of the Church Council. Terry loved the Bible and spent many hours studying and sharing it. He was a dedicated man of God.
Along with church responsibilities, Terry kept busy with his family and traveling. He was a member of the West Valley Rock and Mineral Club and enjoyed rockhounding with the club and family.
He is survived by his wife, Lori McClellan, and sons, Samuel McClellan (Chrissy) Ft. Pierce, Florida, Jason McClellan (Jessica) Phoenix, Arizona, Michael McClellan, Buckeye, Arizona, and Thomas McClellan, Stuart, Florida, and 2 granddaughters, Hannah and Katherine.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob McClellan, 3 siblings, and his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at Estrella Mountain Regional Park (Ramada 7 at 3:00pm) in Goodyear, Arizona on Saturday, March 5.
