She was born Suzanne Yvonne Cordier on February 8, 1925, in Belfort, France. She was the youngest of six children born to Armand and Elise Cordier. As a teenager she faced the hardships of WWII as Germany invaded France. She overcame many trials during that time and was part of the French Resistance. In her early 20’s she married a United States soldier and moved to Massachusetts where she did not know anyone or the language. They had four children together (Ann-Marie, Armand, Dianne and Charlie). She raised teenagers as a single parent and married Jim Tyman on December 23, 1965. At the age of 41 she had her 5th child (Scott).
She battled cancer in 1963, 1968 and 2001. In her early 50’s she rode her bike from Phoenix to Tucson on two different occasions to raise money for the American Cancer Society. She loved to garden and looked forward to the Spring and Fall so she could plant new flowers. She loved life and could appreciate the simpler things. She was loving, generous, hardworking, and an over-comer.
She was welcomed to Heaven by her grandchildren Jennifer and Todd, son Charlie and husband Jim. She is survived by her daughter Ann Beauregard (husband Ray Sr.), son Armand Rowel (partner Tom), daughter Dianne West (husband Bob), and son Scott Tyman (wife Laura), her grandchildren Ray Jr (wife Susan), Nikki (husband Raymond), Cherie (husband Jimmy), Melanie( Todd's widow), Sabrina, Kimberly, James, Yvonne, Gina, Brittney (husband Sam), Kendra, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. We will miss her. Hers was a life well lived.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Christ's Church of the Valley, 7007 Happy Valley Road, Peoria, AZ 85383.
