Rosalie Arden Dion Simeri, 82, of Avondale, passed away May 31, 2013. She was born on Jan. 8, 1931 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Clytie Alice (Lewis) Dion and Orion L. Dion. She spent her early years in California, Hawaii, New York, and in June 1948, graduated from Rogers High School in Newport, Rhode Island. On May 12, 1957, she married Joseph Simeri, in South Bend, Ind., where they spent most of their lives before moving to Avondale, Ariz., in 2001. During her lifetime, Rosalie was a homemaker and raised six children. She worked as a realtor during the 1980s. Gifted with a beautiful voice, Rosalie sang in church choirs and also appeared in local television programs. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; her daughters, Shirley (Thomas) Schoaf and Cindy Dilla; her sons Patrick J. (Pier) Simeri and Joseph L. Simeri; stepson Rocco (Sandy) Simeri, of Florida; her sister, Carol Ebert, of California; 16 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Sara and Diana Bloom. A memorial service will be held June 21, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona.
