Malcolm Richard Brian

Feb. 23rd, 1947 - Feb. 4th, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Malcolm Richard Brian announces his passing after bravely fighting multiple health issues in recent years, on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the age of 73 years in Arizona. Known to all that knew him as “Richard,” he is survived by (1st wife) Judy Jacobs (nee Waley) and will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Tara Brian and her son (Gavin Bath), his sons, Todd Brian & Troy Brian (wife Susan, as well as their children Chelsea, Megan & Brock.) By his (ex) wife, friends and life companion, Sally Brian and her son John Bonk. As well as his beloved dog Reagan. Richard also had many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his sister Sharon Thorn (husband Ken Thorn) and their parents, Malcolm Joseph Brian & Irene Brian.

Richard was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and attended Assumption Collegiate. For many years, Richard lived in Windsor, where he owned and operated (the family business) Mac J. Brian Mechanical Ltd. After selling the business in the 1980’s and a brief stint as a Real Estate Broker, he traveled extensively in his construction endeavors, taking him everywhere from Oklahoma t Dubai, working most recently as an Expert Witness for the Construction Industry with the Berkeley Research Group. Richard relocated to Waddell, Arizona in 2011. He loved his work and never quit working through various health issues that had presented themselves in recent years. No one could hold a candle t Richard’s unwavering work ethic.

Richard had many talents and in his younger years, many hobbies too. You may have seen him piloting his Cessna 182 plane, or you might have found him behind the helm of his Trojan Cabin Cruiser, and he was even a member of MENSA.

For those that knew Richard, they will remember him for his intelligence and wit, for his sense of humor, thirst for adventure and generous nature. Richard will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Gone, but never forgotten.

Due to the current Pandemic, a Funeral Service will not be able to take place. However, his immediate family plans to hold a private celebration of life once his ashes have been returned to Windsor and it is possible to do so.
