MaryEllen Quint

MaryEllen Quint of Goodyear, Arizona passed away September 18, 2023 at the age of 81. She was born July 29, 1942 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Henry and Anita (Metten) Fish, both of whom predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Bernard J. Quint, brother Robert Fish, and grandson Braylyn Quint. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Ivan) Luna and son Jeremy Quint. She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren: Kayanna, Quinton, Jonaziah, Mya, T’ziaha, Jeremy Jr., Azera, and India, as well as one great-grandchild: Jordan.

MaryEllen grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin and moved to Arizona in the mid-1970s. She received her Masters and eventually a Phd in Medieval Literature from Arizona State University. She worked for many years as an English teacher. Her proudest accomplishment, aside from her family, was watching her students succeed. In her free time, MaryEllen had a never-ending quest for knowledge and enjoyed painting, reading, gardening and trying new restaurants. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren..

MaryEllen was a devout Catholic with a loving and gentle soul. Her passing leaves sadness in her wake. But her memory will bring comfort to us forever.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am, Tuesday, October 17 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Avondale, Arizona.
