She will be greatly missed by her husband, Rick, of 42 years, son Rick, grandson RJ (Ricky junior), her siblings, Marcel, Claudette, Francois, Flora and their families. Her beloved daughter, Brandy, pre-deceased her at the young age of 28, and her brother, Christopher (Tito) at age 54.
Marie-Andree was a vivacious, caring, happy and fun loving person who enjoyed life with family and friends. One of her joys was flower gardening and discussing this with friends. While living in Saudi Arabia, in the small front yard of their home, she grew plants whose names covered the alphabet. She enjoyed playing bridge, and, for her own enjoyment (and Rick's), she played, by ear, the 'squeeze box', guitar, keyboard and harmonica. She was quite athletic and enjoyed playing softball, racquetball and squash.
Marie-Andree was born on November 22, 1946 on Coetivy Island, Seychelles Islands, Indian Ocean. She had a vivid and enjoyable memory as a child growing up on an island where her father was the island plantation manager. Later she moved to the main Seychelles island, Mahe, where she met and married an American who was working at the U.S. Air Force satellite tracking station. Their son Ricky was born there. They left the islands in 1970 and moved to San Jose.CA, where their daughter Brandy was born. Over the next 40 years, she lived in San Jose, Kwajalein Island (Marshall Islands), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Goodyear, AZ, Santa Maria, CA and finally retiring in Avondale, AZ in the summer of 2010.
A memorial/celebration will be at her home on October 16.
