Luigi immigrated to the US in 1961 at the age of 21 and settled in Rochester, NY. There he learned the plumbing trade and became a master plumber who worked with integrity and sincerity and had clients who repeatedly trusted him over his long career of almost 50 years.
Luigi was a very dedicated family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren more than anything else.
He was also an avid gardener who produced lots of fruit and vegetables and enjoyed sharing his bounty with his friends, family, neighbors and clients. Along with his brother Franco, he mastered the family tradition of wine making-also sharing that gift with those he loved at holidays, celebrations and gatherings. He loved music and dancing and could be found cutting the rug with his wife of 57 years, Mariella. In 1980, he and Mariella moved their family to Phoenix. Eventually, they built their dream home in which he was fortunate enough to spend his last days.
A visitation will be held at 5pm, Tuesday, January 9 at Thompson Funeral. A mass will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, January 10 at Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Parish in Surprise, Arizona. Burial will follow at 12:15pm at Holy Cross Cemetery.
