Leroy served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1968 and was discharged as a Private (E-2/P). He was formerly a self-employed home improvement contractor for 25 years, and built his own 800 sq/ft A-frame vacation home which he later built into a 3300 sq/ft, multi-room and multiple level home. Leroy and his family lived in that home for 11 years before moving to the West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona in 2001.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed camping in his RV, boating, slalom skiing, fishing, owned and rode an ATV, a motorcycle, and sports cars. Leroy was most recently employed at The Home Depot as a part-time appliance specialist. He was never one to be a couch potato.
Leroy is survived by his wife; Carolyn J. Wilson, his daughters; Andrea Walton, April Ricciardo, and his son; Chad Wilson as well as his three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister Martha Dipiero and both parents; Howard and Marjorie Wilson.
There are no memorial services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made in Leroy’s name to the Homer Fund at https://www.thdhomerfund.org/donate.
