Rev. Lawrence Joseph Clark, 89, of Cottonwood, Arizona died February 12, 2022 in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born January 13, 1933 to Perry Joseph Clark and Esther Shipman in Inglewood, California. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Lee Clark, and his grandson, Zachary Shouse.
Lawrence J. Clark was a proud graduate of UCLA. While at UCLA he joined Alpha Gamma Omega, a fraternity composed of born-again Christian men. He attended Fuller Seminary and then moved to Philadelphia where he completed his Master’s of Divinity degree at Eastern Baptist Seminary. He was ordained by the Philadelphia Baptist Association. He later earned a Master’s of Education degree in Supervision and Counseling at Long Beach State University in California. While Larry had a significant number of educational, professional, and community achievements, he would consider sharing the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ his greatest accomplishment.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bullock; daughter, Peggy (Mark) Whiting; son, Wayne (Della) Clark; step-daughter Janet (Jon) Layfield; step-son, William (Laurie) Bullock; and his sister Dorothy Marian Roder. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 11:15am at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Avondale, Arizona.
The family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
