K. Simonsgaard Ronald

Ron is survived by his wife Susy, son Craig and daughter-in-law Kirsten, and son Scott and daughter-in-law Cy. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Weiss (Adam); and Colin, Griffin, Caylor, Katherine and Kai Simonsgaard. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Green, and brothers, Paul (Sandy) and Steve (Lora) Simonsgaard.

Ron was born on August 20, 1938 in Belgrade, MN to Henry Christian and Ardella Paulson Simonsgaard. After graduating from high school and the Minnesota School of Business, Ron joined the U.S. Navy, serving four years, most notably on the USS Pickaway APA 222. He then attended Northern Arizona University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, and met and married Susy Simmons. The moved to Phoenix in 1966 and Ron began his career in sales, first with Xerox Corporation, and then with Grubb and Ellis Commercial Real Estate in office leasing. Following retirement in 1998, Ron and Susy moved to Goodyear, and then to Litchfield Park.

Ron had many interests in his life, but he most enjoyed his time with his sons in sports and family activities. He was active in the community, and served on the board of Valley Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Through it all, Ron was an enthusiastic Phoenix Suns fan with season tickets for almost 30 years.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church at Litchfield Park, 300 N. Old Litchfield Rd, Litchfield Park, AZ.
