Judith D. D. Austen-Meyers

Judi Austen-Meyers, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on 16 Feb 2015, with family by her side and a mockingbird singing in the back yard. Judi was a dedicated wife, mother and friend with a lust for life. She spent 23 years in service to the Department of Defense and Department of Energy prior to retirement, at which time she discovered more time to pursue her passions, some of which included: Church, Al-Anon, gardening, quilting, reading and history. Her primary focus however was seen in her desire to serve others, which was evident through her many years of Al-Anon service work, volunteer work at the senior center, and involvement in many city and community projects over the years. Her positive influence was felt by a multitude of people; she is loved and will be dearly missed. Judi is survived by her husband Tom, daughters Barbara, Niki, Stella and Nancy, stepchildren Jim and Kerri, brother Jay, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10am on 28 Feb 2015 at the West Valley Church of Christ, located at 18604 W. Lower Buckeye Road, Goodyear, AZ. Donations can be made in Judi's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of the Valley.
