Delmer was born May 4, 1930 in Crockett, Texas to the late Lee Baker and Josie Robinson- Baker. Delmer also goes on to precede in death his late wife Betty Lou Baker, sister Hattie Mae Williams, three brother’s Frank Baker, Grady Baker, Buster Baker, a niece Annie Mae Williams and a great-nephew Anthony D. Williams.
Delmer worked for the city of Phoenix for 22 year’s retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church where he servedon the Brotherhood board until his health started to fail. Delmer also enjoyed the following during his retirement; fishing, cooking, collecting western movies, and going to the casino to past time.
Delmer leaves to cherish his memories a sister Louise Peterson where about are unknown, a brother M.L. Baker of Texas, four nieces Lorine, Frances, Virginia Williams of Avondale, Rosetta Williams of Phoenix and two nephews Luther & Leslie Williams of Avondale and Melvin Williams of Tucson. Also five great nieces Candy Allen of Delaware, Karen Marinos of N. Carolina, Tiffany Williams of Las Vegas, Kimberly and Dominique Williams of Avondale, six great nephews Johnny, Lamont, Marlo, Tony, Antwone and Eric Williams all of Avondale. And a sister-in- law Bobbie Bailey and special friend Tommy Lee Washington. And a whole host of great- great nieces and nephews and distant cousins.
Join the family in celebration of Delmer’s life at Thompson Funeral Chapel 926 S. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ on Tuesday January 4, 2011 @ 11:00am. Burial service to follow at Holy Cross Cemetary 10045 W. Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ
The family will receive guest afterward completion of services at Lorine Williams house.
