He is survived by his soul-mate and loving wife, Cynthia, step-son Bryan Strommen, married to Tanya, of Monroe WI, and step-daughter Cathy Kimball, married to Brad, of Trinity FL. He was the loving grandfather of Erick Strommen, Lily and Leif Kimball. They were the “apples” of his eyes!
Jeff was the son of Carl and Ethel Fischer, and brother of William (Bill), all of Denver CO. Jeff graduated from Lincoln High School in Denver in 1966, and then graduated from Metropolitan University (Metropolitan State College), with majors in political science and journalism. Jeff went on to receive his Masters in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix.
Jeff enjoyed a variety of careers: reporter for The Denver Post, public relations manager for rock bands in the 70's, and marketing representative for the Denver Catholic Register. He worked with New York Life Insurance Company, Dow Jones publications and Quest Communications, where he enjoyed assisting in training programs. As a "Metro" alum, Jeff enjoyed mentoring numerous Metro students and also enjoyed working with new business startups.
Over the years, Jeff participated in numerous organizations from the Colorado Democrats in the 70's, to the Colorado Republicans, from the 80's to 2014, when he and Cynthia moved to Pebble Creek in Goodyear AZ. After their move to Pebble Creek, he joined Men's Christian Fellowship, Pebble Creek Republican's and enjoyed visiting with Coloradans at the Bronco Club watch parties. Jeff's fondest activity was traveling on land or sea with Cynthia and friends. He always enjoyed meeting and visiting with people and was always smiling, laughing and; of course, always ready to offer a helping hand. He is truly missed; but his family is blessed to know that he is well and home with his heavenly Father and those friends and family who passed before him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Goodyear AZ.
