Charles Thomas Collins

Charles Thomas Collins, Jr., age 84 of Goodyear, AZ died January 20, 2017. He was born June 14, 1932 to Gertrude and Charles T Collins, Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, Los Angeles Local 250 for 68 years.   He began working at the age of 17 and worked his way up to become a piping superintendent for Bechtel Corporation for 10 years. Charles enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing, boating and horseback riding. He enjoyed competitive shooting with the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). He loved his animals like family. However, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything. Charles is survived by his daughters, Mary Davis (Martin), Victoria Reed, Teresa Atkinson (David); son, David Collins (Anne Marie); daughter-in-law, SueAn Collins; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ronald Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Jean Collins; and son, Charles Thomas Collins, III.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ 85392. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392.
