Brenda Gant, 71, passed away on January 12, 2021 of natural causes. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and Nana, an amazing friend and second “Mom to many.” Brenda was born on October 24, 1949 to John D. and Julia N. Taylor in Nashville, TN. Brenda spent her childhood in Nashville where she met the love of her life, Ken when he was stationed there. They were married on February 8, 1968, had one daughter, Sheryl. The family moved multiple times including to Spain, Germany, England, New Hampshire and California before settling in Phoenix, AZ in 1983. Brenda earned a business degree at a business college in Nashville, TN and continued her education in Phoenix, AZ for hotel and restaurant management. Although she worked in the office and hotel environment, her passion was the Fine Arts. She enjoyed going to the theatre and creating different mediums to share with others whether it was a piece of jewelry, ceramic or glass art work and loved to make different types of cuisine to share with others. Brenda and her husband, Ken enjoyed being a member of SCA, Society for Creative Anachronism. Archery became a hobby and passion of theirs as they helped bring it to life in their local chapter. Ken and Brenda celebrated 50 amazing years of marriage together before her love passed away in 2018. Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl Fisher of Litchfield Park, AZ; son-in-law, Brian Fisher of Glendale, AZ; granddaughter, Samantha Fisher of Glendale, AZ; brother-in-law, Paul Gant of Tucson, AZ; sisters-in-law, Lois Adkins (Larry) of Martinsville, MO and Nancy Gant of Pueblo, CO and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John D. Taylor and Julia N. Taylor and her loving husband, Ken Gant.
The family will be holding a small private service and she will be taken to her final resting place at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. The family will be planning a Celebration of Life in the future for friends and family.
