Barbara Jo Felton resident of Buckeye, Arizona died November 9, 2024 at Abrazo Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona. She was born October 4, 1947 to H.S. “Buck” and Marjorie Hudgins (Young) in Nampa, ID. Barbara grew up in Clarkia, ID where she attended school and then attended and graduated from St. Maries, High School in the Class of 1965. While in school Barbara was a cheerleader, was named Miss Clarkia in 1965, and had a strong interest for home economics (sewing and cooking) which she excelled at her entire life.
Barbara married Alan Hill and made their home in St. Maries. They had two children and later divorced but she remained a resident of St. Maries working in the school district for several years and then was a great baker for many years at the local grocery store. She then married Dan Felton and she worked as his office manager for many years at Felton’s Auto Sales and they built their dream house out on the St. Joe River where she loved to be and entertain with friends and family. It was also the site of her beloved yearly Camp Grammy with all the kids and grandkids. Her and Dan later divorced and upon their divorce she went to work at St. Joe Sport Stop for several years. She then made the decision to move to the greater Phoenix area (specifically Buckeye, AZ) to be closer to her mother and brother and they all moved in to help take care of their mother (100 years old) whom she absolutely loved and adored and enjoyed being with and taking care of. At the time of her death, Barbara and her mother were planning a move to Texas to be closer to Barbara’s son and his family.
Barbara’s passion was her family, she loved and adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and due to the miles of separation she spent many of hours face timing each of them on the phone as well as making trips to and from to be able to spend quality time with each of them. Each time her call would end with I love you clear up to the sky and right back down to the dirt. Barbara had a special bond with her son and they spent countless hours together talking, face timing, going on trips and enjoying great mother/son time at times traveling all over the country together.
Barbara is survived by her mother Marjorie; daughter Rebecca Bebee of Lewiston, son Rodney (Jalie) Hill of Amarillo, TX; Sister Linda Hawkins of Michigan; Sister Rita Smith of Clarkston, WA; Brother Mike Hudgins of Salt Lake City, UT; Sister Vicki Bacon of Surprise, AZ; Sister Shirley Johnson of Spokane Valley, WA. She is survived by 6 grandchildren (Hailey, Logan, Darbie Jo, Callie, Reagan, Renick), 11 great grandchildren (Easton, Finnley, Forrest, Roczen, Taber, Talon, Emory Pearl, Rhett, Asher, Brooks, Hattie Mae); and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her father (H.S. “Buck” Hudgins) and her “Irish Twin” brother Patrick. Per her request there will be no formal services, there will be a private celebration of her life (The Final Camp Grammy) at a later date on the Shadowy St. Joe River.
