William "Bill" Charles Hickerson

William "Bill" Charles Hickerson, age 86, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. William was born Saturday, October 31, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents; Elizabeth VanNort Hickerson, Leroy Hickerson and his wife of 56 years, Martha Park Hickerson.

Mr. Hickerson graduated from West End High School (class of 54); and earned his Bachelors from Bowling Green College of Commerce (now Western Kentucky University) in 1958. He worked for Genesco from 1958 until 2010 retiring as Manager of Finance and Insurance Departments. A life member of the Church of Christ, serving as Elder for many years at the Tusculum Church. He was extensively involved with Disaster Relief for many years.

He is a fan of all sports, Cincinnati Reds and Vanderbilt, board and card games.

Surviving are his daughter, Sherri (Mark) LaFever; son, Lee (Joan) Hickerson; sister, Mary Edna Yonk; grandsons, Brian LaFever, Chris (Chelsea) LaFever, Gary (Amber) Hickerson; granddaughters, Siobhan Hickerson, Kayleigh Hickerson, Deanne LaFever; great-granddaughters, Olive Hickerson and Isla Hickerson.

A visitation for Bill will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

Visitation will also be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:00 PM at Hendersonville Church of Christ, 107 Rockland Road, Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Burial will occur at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Benton Lowe, Gary Hickerson, Brian LaFever, Chris LaFever, Will Lowe, Daniel Lowe will be serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disaster Relief Churches, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211.
