Mr. Nichols was born in Hendersonville, TN, on August 23, 1927, the son of the late William Thomas Nichols and Roxie Pauline McMurtry Nichols. He retired from the United States Navy as Master Chief. He served as deacon at Friendship Baptist Church and was the First Mayor of Millersville, TN. Mr. Nichols was a member of Goodlettsville Masonic Lodge #271 F&AM and a member of Al Menah Shrine Temple. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Nicholas and a son, Timothy Nichols.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beckie Nichols; daughter-in-law, Lela Eubank; grandchildren, Miranda Nichols, Ashley (Eric) Bright, Scott (Sarah) Nichols, Andrew (Laura) Nichols; Aimee Nichols Corbett; and Josh Nichols; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at ten o’clock in the morning, Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
