Margaret Eloise McCall Carneal Wooten, 84, of Lewisburg, KY and Goodlettsville, TN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5th. She was born on July 14, 1940, in Lewisburg, Kentucky, to the late Ezekial William McCall Sr. and Nettie Josephine Moore McCall. Margaret graduated from Lewisburg High School and later from the Nashville General Hospital School of Nursing where she became an RN. She dedicated over 50 years of her life to nursing, including 30 years of service at the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN. Nursing was her true calling, and she had a special passion for infusion techniques. Margaret was also a devoted member of the Lewisburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church throughout her life.
Margaret is survived by her children: John Glendal Carneal (Joyce) of Russellville, KY, and Amy Joyce Wooten (Brad Beaty) of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished, most of whom affectionately called her Aunt Totty — a nickname given to Margaret by her father when she was a child.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Glendal Edward Carneal, her second husband, Thomas Edward Wooten, and her siblings: Ezekial William McCall Jr. (Bill), Joseph Frank McCall, Sarah Adeline McCall Trogden, Anna Eleanor McCall New, Nancy Emmaline McCall Bryant, Thomas Pink McCall, and Benjamin Ralph McCall.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens with a service to follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow directly after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Operation Stand Down, a charity that was very dear to Margaret. She was an active volunteer with this organization during her time at the VA. Additionally, donations may be made to Lewisburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 141 Church Street, Lewisburg, KY 42256, a place that held a special significance in Margaret's life. Donations can be made through the church or to Operation Stand Down via their website at www.osdtn.org.
