Born in Nashville Tennessee on April 9, 1949, he was the son of James Russell and Norma Jean Kemp.
He was a member of Holiday Heights Baptist Church and retired from the Comfort Group where he was a Welder. He enjoyed serving God and his three grand babies.He will be remembered as a loving, giving and fun Pop Pop.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Kemp; son, Chad (Kristy) Kemp; daughter, Leslie (Travis) Jarrett; granddaughters, Calleigh Kemp, Hallie Rae and Anslee Jarrett, Autumn and Meagan Charles; sisters, Trena Serrano, Pam Williamson; brothers, Jeff (Joye) Kemp, Rusty (Jackie) Kemp; cousin, Sheila (Dan) Connelly and faithful companion, Bandit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Norma Jean Kemp; grandparents, Kido and Betty Kemp and Curtis and Cora Lee Lambert.
Visitation is Thursday from 12-8 and Friday from 10-12 with service at 12 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Jon Briggs officiating.
