Born in Centerville, TN to the late John and Gladys (Johnson) Nicks, Ms. Fay is also preceded in death by her devoted husband, William R. Smith, Jr.; sister Delores Bevels; step-children Nancy, J.C.; as well as, a niece and a nephew. She is survived by her step-son Mike Smith; nieces Theresa Dickson and Cynthia Miller; nephew Rick Bevels; as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
After graduating high school, Fay went to work straight away, and eventually, would retire from a couple of different insurance agencies. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and boating, although Fay would prefer to stay home more often in her later years. She loved her fur-babies and had a wonderful sense of humor. Fay taught her younger family members popular dances like the “Twist”, “Watusi”, the “Mashed Potato” and she could even “Limbo” better than most. She will be dearly missed, but we will treasure the memories of her life, always.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral chapel service to begin at 2:00pm and burial to follow, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Goodlettsville, TN.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ForestLawnFuneral-Goodlettsville.com for the Smith family.
