Earl C Satterfield, born December 15, 1944, in Hartsville, TN, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, surrounded by the family he cherished. Known for his sharp wit, warmth, and unwavering devotion, Earl left a legacy of love and loyalty that will echo through the generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Satterfield; brothers Joe, JT, Britton, Andrew, Cass, Billy, and Alvin; and sisters Mai Goings and Ruby Gregory.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly, and their daughters Kim, Kristy, and Keri, his granddaughter, K.C. (Greg), and his great-grandsons, Kash and Riggins C Casebier, the latter named after his beloved “Papa.” He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Ida Sweeney and Joyce Green (Roger), their travelling and card playing buddies, Robbie and Randy Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored him.
Earl had his first paper route at age 6. In adolescence he played basketball at the Red Shield while (mostly) avoiding trouble. He found his work home at DuPont, where he retired after 38 years in order to perfect his golf swing. He had the rare ability to make everyone laugh and feel welcome, and his love for his family, especially “those boys,” was boundless. He will be remembered for his clever humor, wisdom, and the way he brought people together with stories and a hearty laugh.
We celebrate a life well-lived, filled with faith, family, and fun. Earl will forever remain in our hearts as a pillar of strength, hard work, and love.
Services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, TN with visitation from 11am-1pm and Celebration of Life to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Salvation Army (Red Shield) on Dickerson Pike.
