Dennis was involved in many adventures in his life, including serving and retiring from the Air Force; creating his own garbage company for 10 years where he gained the reputation as everyone’s “friendly neighborhood garbologist”; and becoming a transportation supervisor for Peru Central School in his home state of New York. He also spent his time volunteering with his wife, Mary, for the S.O.W.E.R. Ministry, where they traveled the United States together in their motorhome and helped in providing a lending hand to Christian ministries. He was a member of the Cherry Mound Baptist Church for 8 years.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, James and Necia McLean; His grandmother, Minnie Kilsby; and his siblings, Paul McLean, Margaret Shaw, Marcus McLean, and Gary McLean.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Kathleen McLean; His children, Rachel (James) Herrmann, Ruth (Jon) Yarian, and Dennis (Jessie) McLean Jr. Dennis also leaves 13 treasured grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Cherry Mound Baptist Church on Friday, November 29th, 2024, from 11-12PM, with a service to follow at 12PM. Burial with Air Force Military Honors with Taps to be played by grandson, Emery Herrmann, will be held at White House Memorial Gardens following the service.
