A veteran of the US Navy, he retired from after 38 years from Nashville Electric Service as Director of Operations; then he retired as Head Ranger of the Boy Scouts of America Boxwell Reservation.
Billy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sheryl Ann Voorhies Freeman; children, Billy Reece (Maria) Freeman, Jr., Linda (Jimmy) Cantrell, LeAnna (Tommy) Marlin, David (Shelley) Freeman, Nathan (Kim) Freeman; sister, Marilyn Tidwell; grandchildren, Ann Marie Freeman, Noah Andrew Freeman, Dawn Freeman Miller; great-grandchildren, Manning Miller, McKinnley Miller, Charlie Miller, Kendall Miller.
A visitation for Billy will be held Thursday, December Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and Friday, December 9, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 South Dickerson Pike, Goodlettsville, Tennessee with Bro. Paul Hancock officiating.
Billy will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with honors by the US Navy.
