A lifelong resident of Gonzales, he passed away in his home on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. He was 74, and a well known businessman in the community, former owner of Western Auto, landlord of numerous properties and owner of M&M House Moving. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Taylor Marchand; two daughters, Lorna Marchand Weber and Elise Marchand Ducote; stepdaughter, Teresa Godbold; four sons, Robert Irwin Marchand Jr., Aaron Perry Marchand, Joseph Marcell Marchand and Jared Lee Marchand; sister, Marj Marchand; two brothers, James Allison Marchand and Armand Marcell Marchand III; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand Marcell Marchand Jr. and Elsie Perry Marchand; daughter, Denise Marie Marchand; brother, John Wayne Marchand; and sister, Ruth Lynn Marchand Chatterly. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 27, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 502 Hwy. 30, Gonzales, LA 70737, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., conducted by Bishop Deric Masten.
