Rhonda Gail Ratcliff Guillot, 74, of St. Amant, Louisiana, went to be with our Lord on February 17, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Centerville, Mississippi, on January 10, 1950. She met the love of her life, Lawrence Leslie Guillot, and after only 3 months of dating, they were married on October 2, 1969, in Baton Rouge, LA. They cultivated a 54-year loving marriage while building a beautiful family and creating many cherished memories together. Their incredible love story is an inspiration to our entire family. She was a beloved daughter, mother, and nana who loved her daughters and granddaughters beyond measure. Gail was a passionate educator who was highly respected and loved by her peers and students. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from LSU in Education, with a concentration in Social Studies. She taught history at Central Private School, Baker, LA, and Louisiana State University Laboratory School, Baton Rouge, LA. After retiring, she and Lawrence loved traveling, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying time on the water. She was always an avid reader of Stephen King novels and, in her retirement, she became a master gardener. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Leslie Guillot, her mother, Edith Rae Dulin (Ratcliff) Goetzmann, her daughters, Stephanie Guillot Thompson (Scott) and Amee’ Guillot Foster, her granddaughters, Emily and Kinley Thompson, Gracie (Bryce), Chloe’ and Phoebe Foster, her great-granddaughter Aspyn Ponvelle, and her brother Grady Lane Ratcliff (Marianne). She is preceded in death by her father Boyce Ratcliff. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 5 pm to 8 pm, at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA and will resume on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at New River Methodist Church, St. Amant, LA at 9 am. Funeral services will be at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in Gail’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
