Michael Olen Singletary, 62, of Maurepas Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1st, 2023. Michael was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 12, 1961 to Olen and Carolyn Singletary. Michael ended up in Boston Georgia where he attended school, graduating from high school with his mind set on college. This just wasn’t the path for him particularly after meeting Rebecca Lynn Morgan, his future wife for 18 years and the mother of his 4 children. Michael joined the Navy and served for 4 years, exiting the Navy honorably at a rank of E5. After this Michael worked in just about every field possible from working on tugboats in the gulf, driving tractor trailers hauling freight cross country for JP hunt, to earning a college degree in computer science with a focus on unix programming, where he found the most financial and professional success of his life. All along this path Michael always took care of his children to the best of his ability. Was always there for them, always provided for them. Through thick and thin, he was there. He loved his family dearly and saw them as his true legacy and wanted more than anything to see that family grow and be happy for many generations to come. Michael was preceded by both his mother Carolyn and father Olen and is survived by his sister Tammy Green; his sons, Michael and William Singletary; his daughters Elizabeth and Annamarie Singletary; and his beautiful grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Lilly and Jasper. A public visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Our lady of Sorrows, 3475 North Sherwood Forest Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70814. Following the public visitation will be a mass of christian burial at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows, 3475 North Sherwood Forest Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70814. Michael will be laid to rest in Serenity Oaks Memorial Park, 15304 Hwy 73, Prairieville, LA.
