Born August 1, 1937, and passed away on March 24, 2022 at her residence in Gonzales, surrounded by her family. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. Margie was dedicated to the Blessed Mother. She brought communion to the area nursing homes and hospitals. She also enjoyed making rosaries for the family, friends, and churches at home and abroad. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, J.B. Melancon; her parents, Windom and Lorena Gautreau; and Great Grandchild, Semper Melancon.
She is survived by her children, Rodney (Kay) Melancon, Timothy (Charlotte) Melancon, and Lisa
Maulden; Grandchildren, Jason (Marci) Melancon, Jodi (Caleb) Decoteau, Chris (Jeri) Melancon, Shaun (Laura) Melancon, Courtney (Josh) White, Brandi (Adam) Roussel, Jessica (Paul) Johnston, and numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Alfred) Taillon, Dorthy Morrel; brother, Bernard (Margaret) Gautreau and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Visitation on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church 1022 N. Burnside Ave. Gonzales, LA 70737, to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Hope Haven cemetery 604 E. LA 30 Gonzales, LA 70737.
