GONZALES-A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Lawrence “Allen” Rowell, age 21, on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:30 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church with Fr. Rubin Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Mausoleum. A Rosary will be recited at 4:45 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 and Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at St. Mark Catholic Church from 8:00 AM until service time.
A loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Allen went home in the early morning hours on June 1, 2014. He was a resident of Gonzales and was good-hearted, generous, kind and always offered a smile.
He was an avid sports enthusiast who revered Brave's baseball and Chipper Jones. With this passion, he played as the catcher for the East Ascension Spartans baseball team, was a recipient of the John Keith Ambeau award and was currently volunteering as coach for the Gonzales baseball team, 14-year-old division.
He was a dedicated plant technician professional at Reserve Telecommunications Company and a Louisiana State University college student. While in school, he worked at Cal’s Bakery until its closure earlier this year and was a parishioner at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Michelle Rowell of Gonzales; sister, Danielle Rowell; grandparents, Larry and Ann Hebert; girlfriend, Alexandra Krieger and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jimmie and Marjorie Rowell; great-grandparents, Elison “Boogie” & Altia Hebert and Lawrence “T-Man” and Marie Allen and uncle, Jimmie E. “Bubba” Rowell.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hebert Jr., Coty Hebert, Steven Hebert, Rodney Guitreau, Daryn Heath and Steve Rusk.
