Landry was born on July 11, 1955 and died in Christ on Christmas Day, 2020. Survived by his loving wife, Kim Comeaux Bonnette and his sisters, Patricia Austin and Katherine Herring (Johnny), and brother, Patrick Bonnette, Sr. and numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Lillian and David Bonnette, Sr. and brothers, David Bonnette, Jr. & Ronald Lemoine. A native of Simmesport and resident of St. Gabriel, he attended LSU and graduated from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA. He was a fraternal member of Sigma Tau Gamma. He worked for the LA Department of Public Safety & Corrections at the LA State Penitentiary (Angola), and later transferred to Elayn Hunt Correctional Center where he retired after many years. He was a founding member and former board member of the Angola Museum. Landry was a friend to all and loved his “Fighting Tigers”. He will be sorely missed, but we know that he is resting in the arms of our Lord & Savior. Services will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in St. Gabriel, LA on Wednesday January 6, 2021. Visitation is open to everyone with social distancing in place from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm . Due to the Covid-19 guidelines, the funeral mass and burial will be limited to family only. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the GBR Cancer Society.
