Josephine Manangn Westerman, 59, of Gonzales, LA, passed away on December 22, 2024, in Baton Rouge. She was born in La Union, Philippines, and was a beloved member of the Gonzales community. Josephine was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a deep love for the outdoors, where she enjoyed everything from hunting and fishing to hot air ballooning, embracing the freedom and beauty of nature. A gifted floral arranger, she found joy in creating beautiful, intricate designs that brought happiness to those around her. Josephine also had a passion for cooking, often preparing delicious meals for her family and friends, always with love and care. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, and found immense joy in making lasting memories with them. As an adoptive mother to many, she had an open heart and a nurturing spirit, offering love and guidance to those who were fortunate enough to be in her life. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Westerman, and her father, Alfonso Ariaga. Josephine is survived by her loving husband, Allan K. Westerman; children, Amber Westerman, Kaiden Westerman, and Kolbie Westerman; her parents, Soledad and John Terry; in-laws, Madeline and Thomas Blackmon; siblings, Cherry Martin, Samantha Parham, and Daniel "Danny" Ariaga; and her cherished grandchildren, Kash Garcia, Sophia Garcia, and Silas Westfall. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Bear, and her cherished cat, Nunu, both of whom brought her much joy and comfort. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, LA, on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory on Highway 30. Pallbearers honored to serve: Allan K. Westerman, Kaiden Westerman, Nicolas Velasquez, Daniel Arnold, John Good, Raymond Matherne, Daniel "Danny" Ariaga, and Daniel Ariaga. The family would like to express their special thanks to the staff at Lake Ascension and the MICU Unit at Our Lady of the Lake Baton Rouge for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her memory.
