Hilda M Darbonne

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Hilda M. Darbonne, entered her heavenly home on September 6, 2021 at the age of 83 years. She was a resident of Gonzales, LA and a native of Church Point. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Roussa (Claude), Melissa Braud (Michael Sr.), Cheryl Hanna (Phillip), Lonnie Haydel (Bryan Sr.), and Alice’ Bourque (Patrick); sisters-in-law, Wilma Meche, Leona Dicapo, and Genevieve Darbonne; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren plus 1 on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Darbonne; parents, Onezime and Alice Boudreaux Meche; grandson, Blaine Roussa; 3 sisters, Verna Bergeron, Mabel Higginbotham and Aniese Foreman and 6 brothers, Ferdinand Comeaux, Walter, Wallace, Elson, Raymond, and J.B. Meche. She leaves behind a legacy of service to her church and community, amazing recipes from a true Cajun Queen, and a lifetime of memories filled with love and laughter with family, friends, and strangers alike. The sound of her laughter and her precious loving manner will forever echo in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept 10, 2021, from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 LA-621, Gonzales, LA.
