Edna Marie Marchand

Edna Marie Aydell Marchand resident of Port Vincent died on October 22, 2023 at home at the age of 72. She was a longtime member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Chapel in Carville and recently returned home to St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement. She was a graduate of Denham Springs High School. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and loved taking care of the family dog “Sally.” She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae Aydell. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John D (Jay) Marchand; their daughter, Jennifer Carter (Heath); her two grandsons, Eli and Jase; her father, Robert Aydell; and four sisters, Katherine Foster (Butch), Charlotte Dixon, Tina Pietri (Richard) and Cindy Aydell; along with many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers honored to serve, Heath Carter, Eli Carter, Blaine Brocato, Blake Anderson, Taylor Anderson and Phillip Marchand. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Mass of Christian burial will start at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at the St. William Catholic Cemetery in Port Vincent, along with a gathering to be held after the burial at the Port Vincent Community Center.
