Dennis Wayne Niehaus age 74 and a resident of Reserve, LA passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born on February 8, 1950, in Evansville, IN. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He served in the United States Army from March 15, 1968 to January 19, 1971. He served during the Vietnam War from December 13, 1968, to December 12, 1969. He drove semi-trucks for many years and ended his working career as a Repo Man. He loved fishing, going to Casinos, playing bingo, attending & watching wrestling events, old trucks & cars, and spending time with loved ones. He is survived by sisters, Susan “Susie” Authement, Terri Niehaus, Sherri Davidson; brothers, Cary “Dino” Niehaus (Linda), Stephen Niehaus, Brian Niehaus, Herbert “Herbie” Niehaus and brother-in-law Micheal Miller; children, Mary Niehaus Santleben (Jeff), Patricia Niehaus Orrender, Dennis “Bubby” Niehaus (Wendy), Tiffany Niehaus Turner (Jeremy); grandchildren, Rachel Niehaus Wright (Chase), Jacob Shockley (Krista), Zachery Shockley, Cody Shockley (Maria), Cheyenne Santleben (Chris), Brandy Santleben (Red), LaRoche Santleben (Charlie), Aaron Santleben (Madison), Brittany Orrender, Karli Orrender Coleman (Wayne), Dylan Orrender (Summer); Crystopher Gibson, Ashley Niehaus Thompson (Mason), Anthony “AJ” Niehaus, Greysun Niehaus, Madalynn Niehaus; 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harvey Niehaus, mother Mary Weir Niehaus Newman; “Pops” Charles Newman; sisters, Carolyn Harris, Denise Miller, Diane Peveto, Linda Browning; brothers, David Niehaus, Jerry Niehaus, and Lester Niehaus; brothers-in-law, Richard “Homey” Peveto (Diane), Jim “Slim” Browning (Linda), Jason Authement (Susan), Albert “Pete” Williams (Sherri); sisters-in-law, Shirley Niehaus (Herbert), Eileen Niehaus (Brian) and long-time companion Julia Norris. A celebration of life will be on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at Ourso Funeral Home 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, La.
