Darrell Scott Johnson, a native of Baker, Louisiana, passed away at his home in Gonzales, Louisiana on July 12, 2022 at the age of 50 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Scott was born on April 19, 1972 to Darrell and Elaine Johnson. He graduated from Baker High School and a Louisiana State University alumnus. He served his country honorably and faithfully as a United States Marine and the Louisiana National Guard. Scott had a successful career as a private investigator for twenty-two years. In 1995, Scott married Dawn Diez Johnson who was his loving wife for twenty-seven years at the time of his death. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Scott enjoyed watching and coaching his children, Dari and DJ in many sports such as baseball, softball, and soccer. He loved watching LSU football and baseball, cooking, dancing, woodworking, Star Wars, and Elvis. His life-long friendships meant the world to him and was shown through his dedication to all of them. Scott was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lidie and Lola Johnson; maternal grandparents, Donald and Kathryn Campbell; and mother in-law, Joan Diez. Scott is survived by his wife, Dawn Diez Johnson; daughter, Dari (Connor) Smith; son, Darrell “DJ” Johnson, Jr.; parents, Darrell and Elaine Johnson; siblings Kristi (Brent) Gueho; brother, David (Jami) Johnson; father-in-law, Wilbur “Ting” Diez; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
