A native of New Orleans and a resident of Jena, she was born Feb. 14, 1948, and departed this life at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at age 62. Her loving husband, Godfred J. Schexnayder, whom she had been married to for 28 1/2 years, was holding her hand as she left to be with her Savior. She is survived by three stepchildren, Keith Schexnayder, of Kramer, Holly Ordoyne and spouse Wilbert, of Labadieville, and Rhea Schexnayder, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Trenton and Tristan Schexnayder, of Houston and Gage and Abby Ordoyne, of Labadieville; brothers, the Rev. Charles Fritz Sr., of Jonesville, Wayne Fritz, of Angola and Earl Gros Jr., of St. Amant; sisters, Judy Collins, of Prairieville, Cecelia Henderson, of Gonzales, Cecile Fritz and Earlena Caldorera, both of St. Amant; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Earl and the Rev. Rhoda Gros; brother, Hudson Fritz; sister, Earline Gros; and a nephew, Joseph Collins Jr. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Following the visitation there will be a service at First Apostolic Church, Gonzales, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Glenn Henderson Sr. and the Rev. Dan McClure, officiating. Interment will be in Life Church Cemetery, formerly Galvez Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Schexnayder, Glenn Henderson Jr., Kaleb Fritz, Earl Gros III, Cleveland Parks Jr., Wayne Perritt Jr., Gage Ordoyne, and Wilbert Ordoyne.
