On September 30, 1938, Judith (Judy) Louise Snyder was born in Gary, Indiana, to Louis Melvin Snyder and Dorothy Elizabeth Perry. Judy was an only child who lived in her Grandparents home with many family members who blessed her with a lot of love. Judy attended Horace Mann (all girl) school through her high school years.
After graduation, she fell I love with Jerry Dufrenne and they married in San Diego, California in November of 1956. Shortly afterwards, they began a family, having 4 kids together. They lived in Tempe City, Arcadia and Covina, and then purchased a home in La Verne in the early 1960’s, where they lived until their marriage ended in the early 1970’s. Judy met Frederick A. Bevelheimer and they were married in July of 1973. Although Jerry and Judy were no longer married, they remained great friends, enjoying all family events and holidays together, throughout the remainder of their lives.
Judy worked for Amtrack 15 years, from the early 1980’s through the mid 1990’s, which gave her the opportunity to travel to many wonderful destinations. She worked with people who she considered family. After retiring from Amtrak, she worked for the Employment Development Department in Redlands, California, until retiring, in 2002.
She spent the remainder of her years enjoying time with family and friends. Judy was very social and had many friends and neighbors that she truly loved as family.
