Gloria Eve McMurray

July 24, 1931-January 4, 2023

Gloria was born to Francis & Theodore Butler in Chicago, Illinois where she spent the

first 23 years of her life. She had a sister and younger brother, who preceded her death.

After high school, she worked with her mother in the restaurant business in Chicago

until she married Gerald McMurray on February 28, 1953. Her first child, Lance, was

born in Chicago. The other four children were born in California.

She met her husband, Gerald, in 1951 and remained in Chicago until 1954. Her parents

moved to Southern California in 1953 and settled in West Covina where her father

owned a business. In 1954, she and her husband moved to Southern California and

settled in West Covina, where they remained until all the children finished their

education in local West Covina schools. Having five children, Lance, Gail, Michael,

Theodore, and Louis kept her busy. She was always involved in school activities and

community activities with the children's sports program.

She was a mother of a 5, grandmother of 6, and great-grandmother with 4 great

grandchildren whom she loved and spoiled. She loved family get-togethers where she

could cook and enjoy everyone's presence.

Unfortunately, she lost 3 sons, Theodore in 1984, Michael in 1996, and Louis in 2006.

Her Children remained in her heart and memory.

She was an exceptional wife, wonderful mother, generous grandmother, and spoiling

nana who will always be in our hearts.

Services will be held February 2, 2023 at Oakdale Memorial Park. 1401 S. Grand Ave.

Glendora, CA.
