Wanda Lou Gregory

Wanda Lou Gregory, 85 of Peoria, Arizona passed away on October 9, 2024. She was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on August 7, 1939 to the late Garland Edward and Gertrude Savannah (nee Branscum) Gregory.

Wanda is survived by her six children Shirley Harshberger and her husband Dennis from Spearville, Kansas; Susan Byrum Peck and her husband David from Prescott Valley, Arizona; Judy Cruz-Kruseff and her husband George from Prescott, Arizona; Tanya McCord and her husband Bill from Ellinwood, Kansas; Patricia Mulder and her husband Russ from Peoria, Arizona; and her son Bill Byrum and his wife Johna from Peoria, Arizona. She also leaves behind 14 grandsons, 15 granddaughters, 18 great-grandsons, 16 great-granddaughters, 3 great-great grandsons, and 1 great-great granddaughter. Wanda is also survived by her twin brother Jim Gregory and his wife Judy, and her sisters Shirley Collins and Glenda Fontaneri and her husband Andy.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the father of her 6 beautiful children whom she was married to for 20 years, William Eugene Byrum, and her brothers L.D., Lloyd Edward, Clifford Arthur, Johnny Ray, George Obrey Gregory, and brother in law, Jim Collins.

Wanda treasured many hobbies such as quilting, sewing and crafting. She made clothes for dolls, and quilts for everyone in the family. She was no stranger to the kitchen and was a wonderful cook and baker. Some of her children’s favorite meals were her chicken and noodles, hamburger gravy, including her pumpkin pie. A woman of many talents, Wanda found enjoyment in drawing and writing poetry. Sometimes you could even catch her fishing. Most of all, her favorite pastime was to spend time with her children and family.

Family and friends are invited to attend services for Wanda on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at West Resthaven Funeral Home; 6450 W Northern Avenue in Glendale. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM. Wanda will be laid to rest after services at Resthaven Park Cemetery also in Glendale.

Memorial contributions in Wanda’s name can be made to her daughter Patricia Mulder and sent to 11209 W. Las Palmaritas Dr. Peoria, Arizona 85345. All donations will be applied to funeral costs.
