Troy Ashton Cerio, was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Michael and Diana Cerio on February 12, 1987. He spent his exuberant, remarkable existence positively impacting the lives of so many others during his brief 34 years. He passed away very unexpectedly of natural causes on May 7, 2021.
Troy became the center of attention at a very young age due to his uniqueness, creativity, strong convictions and hilarious wit. He formed a literally instant bond with his 15-month-old brother, Gavin, who became his life-long best friend and co-conspirator in all of their many fun-filled pursuits and interests, which were extensive. Troy loved guitars, motorcycles, weapons, trucks, electronics, music, fishing, boating, the ocean, cooking, quoting movies and doing impersonations.
He was an independent adult who tried many things, attracting a wide circle of friends in the process; he referred to this group as his “Soul Family”. When asked, Jason described Troy as “unapologetically himself, a good guy through and through,” who was always there to help those in need – and “one of the most witty people I have ever met in my life.”
In recent years, he established his own successful business in the field of antennae systems with his partner, Cesar Paredes.
Troy was preceded in death by his father Michael Ceri;, his grandparents Leon Cerio, Beverly Cerio and Frank Rossell; and his dog Gunther. He is survived by his mother Diana Rossell, Gavin and Amber Cerio, his sister and brothers Angel and Scott Carpenter and Michael Cerio, his grandmother Hilah Rossell and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Troy will always be remembered for his zest for life, contagious laugh, wisdom, patriotism, devotion to God and irresistible charm. He will be so very missed and cherished in our heats with love.
Manny said, on behalf of all his friends, “The power of your voice and the depth of your soul will be missed by an entire soul family for eternity.”
A memorial service for Troy will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 2:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N 59th Ave Glendale, AZ 85301.
